The effort of the socceroos was probably one of the most uninspired I'd ever seen, can't really blame them given their opposition. It would appear as though the aussie players were suffering from the same attitude as the fans. A sellout mcg for the match against the european champions four years ago and then the FFA cave in to a match against the allwhites, Jesus..

Three goals against an 11 man world champions was that El Grap ?

we were never actually claiming to be fantastic.

You guys however,do claim to be...you whinged about playing us,"too good to be playing rubbish old NZ,what kind of warm up is winning 6-0" and that we would be thugs and get you injured for the WC.

Reality: you scrape through via an over-time goal,and you guys were the thugs (also lucky not to be playing with 9 men).

Yeah,i think we're allowed to be going on the way that we are.

Let's put it this way. If the Phoenix just scraped in 2-1 over, say, some Tahitian team, I wouldn't be going to their forum to call them whingers, or go WE WON YOU LOST EAT THAT, or going on about how we played like sh*t because they weren't worthy of respect. In fact, if I went over there at all it would be to say "Bien jou, mes amis", and whinge about our bad performance back here.

That's because I'm not psychologically projecting the weakness of my team onto someone else so as to have an excuse to take out my frustrations on them.Doloras2010-05-26 17:35:01

I still think you lot overestimate how serious the aussies took your side the other night. The talking up of the allwhites you guys are doing after making the wc due to our 06 efforts is really funny. Score a point at the world cup, go on.

I don't mind Australians if they can provide a cohesive argument.  I mean Diego Son strikes me as a patronising numpty but at least he can put up a sound (albeit wrong) argument.

Melbournite strikes me as having the IQ of your average World Game Forumite.

As for professional footballer, I think you'll find Leo has a contract and a club to play for.  Craig Moore ?

Careful, mate, you lost.. And to the sh*ttiest of performances by the socceroos in a long time. It must be comforting knowing the reason the allwhites qualified was through the rewarding of oceania from the 'crapiness' tainted socceroos.

Why are you coming on here harping on about how sh*t we played? Do you realise it wasnt even a serious match? There were 13 subs made, and the ref didnt issue reds because of this very fact. Every Aussie I spoke to at the pubs after the match pretty much shared the same view point... in fact because of the lack of seriousness, i dont think we even spoke of the game for more than 5mins.

bringing you down was never the intention, but the degree of whinging i read in here about the poor tackles from cahill and grella was just astounding, it's as though it is all the posters in here can focus on.
and davybhoy, if Australia defeating New Zealand is a 'new low' in australian sport, then i'd hate to know what the state of New Zealand sport is.
go on, keep whinging about referee decisions in a FRIENDLY match, i pity you. and don't give us too much sh*t, if it wasn't for australia most of your squad would be playing in the NZ premier league.

Ahhh the Tommy Oar special- Did you thank Chris Killen for choosing to play number 10 for you? no?? so two lucky goals and very very lucky not to get red cards left right and centre. And lucky that Fallon couldn't bury his free head.

Us having had a few players playing in your league shouldn't  give you the right to be proud to be a c*nt. you're pitying us? That was an embarrasing performance on the pitch and this is worse in our forums. I know that you personally are responsible for NZ getting to the world cup. You're a big guy. Congrats

This compared to the guy I shared a lift with at our hotel.  In the time it took for the lift to go up one level, he managed to answer my 'what did you think of the game' question with the following response: 'was pretty average game, but that was expected considering it was a friendly.  But we've got bigger fish to fry'.

Nice one buddy.  Pretty sure you'll be the fryee not the fryer.

No. First they made pretty pictures with glitter and glue, then they did some painting, then they all sang a song and then the teacher read them a story. then mummy picked him up and he went home for a nap.

Quite a full day really.

It would seem to be about an Australian who's trying to get a reaction. Nice work, dropping the fact that you're at University, by the way. Attention seeking AND trying to impress. Hmm. I think you might have some issues there.

Anyway, I'll leave you to carry on playing...

This is part of a fairly typical social media courting ritual.

The stranger to the herd puffs his chest out and plays the aggressor but is really a lost soul, disgruntled with his own tribe, looking for greater intelligence and more rewarding banter.

Oh dear, this post is plagued by spelling errors. You're better off leaving your 'country' and settling in Bondi, living off Australian Welfare benefits with the rest of your 'bros'.  it's okay, mate, we can afford to educate you.

It's quite amusing how quickly Australia and its fans have gone from being starry eyed newbies just happy to be on the world stage mixing it with the best (like we are) to patronising c0cks who seem to have forgotten the last 30 years, and their humility with it.

Australia haven't moved on in the last 4 years - the names on the team sheet say it all.  The dearth of talent coming behind must be extremely worrying to any Australian fan with a modicum of intelligence.  Simply beyond the first 6 or so players or so Australia are only marginally better than NZ - that's the real issue

okay, my childish windups aside, this is f**king rubbish. australia is still as modest as it was four years ago in football, but when it comes to you kiwis talking us down and yourselves up after a half arsed friendly match, we willl (or at least I will) patronise. the sh*t talked in here about your own chances in your group match the sh*t i've been talking in here today. the reality is you scraped past bahrain to qualify, and only qualified after oceania was rewarded for Australia's efforts.
we had to work twice as hard to qualify in '06 and '10, and you'll soon learn that the WC isn't as easy as a friendly game against an uninspired socceroos side or a 2 legger against Bahrain.
