Agree Wynne did well defensively and would love to see Roux crossing the ball in. I can't understand why he isn't being picked as is the most mobile going forward.
Good to control the game for most parts and keep them quiet. Disappointing both of our goals were gifts and we didn't really create much at all. Seems to be a common theme despite having the best forward line in probably 15-20 years. Lots of floated, aimless crosses that led to nothing.
Crosses to back post when there was no one there, crosses to the top of the box when there was people at the back post. And long throws. Best move a passing interchange through the middle.
I think we have dominated generally and Fiji only look dangerous on the counter... I don't mind the crossing looking for Wood, he's a great target especially when we up picking up the clearences, But the quality of crosses could be a lot better, a lot have been over hit.
Just watched the game and god the crossing. Have they not seen Chris Wood play this year? Along the ground to his feet!
Was thinking that- at Leeds they break fast, he gets in good positions and they find him with a ball...
I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with us attempting crosses as a tactic but by God the execution was poor. Big, loopy, slow ones every time. Whip it in FFS

Lads did the job and got the points. That's all that really counts in qualifiers.
Got to hand it to the tactical genius of Hudson. Directing all those crosses to be high, slow & loopy knowing that a Fijian player would handle one at some point.

Personally, I expect to see some decent combination football in the final third, we've not done that at all under Hudson

Of course you don't count goals in penalty shoot outs. Personally I think it's reasonable to call that a win although understand that FIFA doesn't. But why would you say his record is X starting from X game - it's rubbish. His record is what it is and this attempt to dress it up demeands him and NZ Football for playing along
