Mexican legend Rafa Marquez who played against the All Whites in Russia and captained his side, has been sanctioned by the US Treasury and the Mexican Attorney General for laundering money for a drug trafficking organization.

It's alleged that Marquez's dealings with drug baron Raul Flores Hernandez stretch back twenty years and that Marquez has been accepting money for his charities and football academies from the drug baron and laundering money for him.

Marquez voluntarily handed himself in to the Mexican Attorney General's office.

He's in deep shark.

The corruption in football knows no bounds.
