Is it true we now have to wait until May next year for the next game? That's so stupidly far away
That's because there aren't any international windows until the OFC Nations Cup
Incorrect.
There is a FIFA international window 21 - 29 March 2016 with two match days:
http://es.fifa.com/mm/Document/WorldFootball/Calen...
OFC Nations Cup is 28 May - 11 June 2016
NZF could also arrange friendlies in May outside any FIFA window (vs. Pacific Island teams / Asian teams?).
A-League Final is May 1 so all Wellington Phoenix players will be available for any friendlies or camps in May or earlier depending on when the Phoenix are eliminated.
The FIFA March 2016 window would see the Phoenix losing several players for two matches - 20 March home to Perth and 28 March away to Melbourne City. After that the Phoenix have just two more regular season games (April 2 and 10).
The last English Championship fixtures are on May 7 (Wood, Smith, Cameron, Tzanev) three weeks ahead of the OFC Nations Cup.
Last League 2 (Oxford Utd) fixtures are May 7 (Crocombe)
The last EPL fixtures are May 15 (Reid)
Last St Mirren fixture, Scottish Div. One is April 31 (Howieson)
Last Greek fixtures (PAS Giannina) April 16 (Tzimopoulos)
Last Dutch Eredivisie games are May 7 (Thomas)
The last Swiss fixtures are May 24 (Rojas)
The South African League finishes May 21 (Brockie, Boxall)
Last Unterhaching, Germany fixture is May 21 (Marinovic)
Scandinavian leagues start early April (Keat, Henderson)
