Szoboszlai giving you ideas? You have no idea if Thomas would be any good there, pure wishful thinking. But I think you're right that we probably need to accomodate all 4 of Stamenic Bell Thomas & Singh, and it probably is McCowatt who can be sacrificed to achieve it.
Rogerson deserves a run at Mt Smart, and will help to get the AFC crowd more enthusiastic about the All Whites. I think he would prove that he isn't miles behind McCowatt at all. AucklandPhoenix
I’m not a McCowatt fan but he is kms ahead of Rogerson and miles ahead of LBS.
injuries dependent we will be playing Bell, Marko, Singh and Thomas in the starting team.
In my view Singh either replaces McCowatt with a slight change of shape, with Just and Wood up front.
My preferred option however is Thomas at right back instead of Payne. I believe after watching that game he has the pace and engine to do a great job there and it seriously upskills our team.
Someone posted that during his brief game time he played the position for PSV, which while I can’t remember, I can definitely believe.
Edit: if you wanted to run an experiment like that, shifting one of our surplus excellent midfielders to right back, I would try Stamenic there myself and leave Thomas in midfield with Bell. Would leave us with very little midfield cover though, Rufer's performance was very worrying
