Thousands of players all over the world go on international breaks and play 2x 90 minutes every international window, I don't know why a bunch of people on here think it is something that just cannot be done. And so what if our games are "friendlies", we don't have the luxury of dozens of high quality competitive games every World Cup cycle, we need to take our games seriously.

If Boxall's body can't handle the loading then fine, but if he can and he is considered one of our best two CBs then Baze should be able to start him without it being considered a problem, it is really bizarre that you people think it would or should be.

Also - is it on principle important that we lessen the chances of us getting an important win against Australia because Minnesota winning a club competition is more important? I honestly think you guys need to reflect on how you prioritise things.
I'm baffled you can't wrap your head around the fact that clubs have a relationship with the national teams of respective players. Of course clubs are going to talk to the national teams and ask for/recommend agreements on minutes - it's their club doctors and physios who know the players better than anyone, and equally it's their pockets who are paying the wages of the players every week.

You seem to think managing minutes is somehow Baze being subservient to player's club sides. The All Whites camp and the player's club BOTH do not want a player getting injured at the start of the season, and less than 12 months out from the world cup - it's in both party's interests to prioritise caution.

Also, there's the blindingly obvious context of specific player's situations - Thomas and Singh already have histories of being rather injury prone, Wood always seems to pick up an injury on all whites duty (which the Forest will definitely be aware), Boxall is aging like fine wine but in footballing terms is still geriatric. And then added on to all that, theres no other national team squad on Earth that has to fly as far as ours does, as frequently as we do, which absolutely can negatively affect players.
