With regard to Boxall and Surman, it is an international window, what club coaches think means nothing.

Man you really have no idea.

What about when Baze wants to get his AWs squad together next year, one week before the FIFA official WC window starts, for some valuable extra prep. But with the 2026 MLS season in full swing Minny’s coach says fudge off, I’m not releasing Boxall until I have to. We owe you nothing. He came back to us last September tired heading into a crucial part of our MLS season and it cost us etc etc.

And what’s the point of putting any players in a potentially ‘piggy in the middle’ bad energy spat. Just for a friendly when in the example case of Surman and Boxy you have one high quality CB likely replacing another 


Edit - There are 30 teams in the MLS. With salary caps, new teams coming in etc it's bloody hard to win the MLS Cup. Clubs tend to have a small window, where they are near the top before falling away as quality players finish up. There have been 8 different winners in the last 10 years. Minny are 2nd in the West, this maybe their best every chance to be crowned champions. Their window, their big chance. Captain Boxall a crucial part of that. They definitely don't want him to play 180 mins in 5 days plus travel.
