There is some talk if we make it throught the group stage to the WC to play Iran .
TBH I think the key among other things is a team FFA can make lots and lots of money from meaning filling Suncorp, Homebush or one of the southern states stadiums ... meaning a 50K + crowd with high ticket prices and I don't see the AW's doing this
[/quote] Come October the Socceroos will have limited choice (like us) if they want some friendlies in Australia. Doubt any of the bigger European teams will fly all the way to Oz for a games essentially means nothing, when club seasons will all be in full swing. Club managers won't like that. CONEMBOL & CONCACAF qualifying rounds will rule out Americas sides.
A few years ago lowly South Africa played in Sydney - so FFA have had to accept less quality teams in the past.
Of course if Socceroos were to schedule friendlies in Europe, or only finish 3rd in their Asian pool, then no chance of a AWs match.
Alternative for AWs could be another camp in the States and a friendly against someone like Jamaica - who are not involved in CONCACAF final round qualifying, but still a useful side (FIFA ranking 79th) - though undoubtedly a step down from South America's 5th team or even Socceroos.
