good result, but such a shame to conceed so late.  I still cannot get my head around our striker marking their player on the goal line, when the rest of the defence is outside the 6 yard box.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

ffs 2-1 up, less than 10 to play, and radio sport goes to ads. Don't they understand the concept of LIVE sports?

1pt instead of 3, this is a bit tough

Pity.  But still, it'll give t***er, Romanos, quirky Veitch, Lose, and TVNZ something to think about...

If I was asked before the game started I would take a draw.

but real shame they couldn't take the 3 points.

But still...great result.

Look forward to the mens game tomorrow now....and hopefully BBC are showing online too.

That game was so bl00dy nerve racking though...I need to go outside for some fresh air.

If we build it, they will come...

They did it in the Nix game too. If it continues this season, I'll be making a list and boycotting advertisers when I return to NZ

Did anyone get the streaming to work from tvnz.co.nz?

I couldn't get it to work...

Top result.
Only downside for me was the imbecilic TV commentary. A rugbyhead who knew not the first thing  about football. A yellow card in the area - must be a penalty. A push in the back in the area - a penalty. He was floundering big time.

I'm happy we managed to draw that, but it was actually a shambles of a game (I watched it on freeview).  The Referee was absolutely useless.  The girls did have skill, I won't take that from them, but whenever our defense got the ball we booted it upfield, and there was very little talking, more than once two girls almost collided running for the same ball (both from the same team I should say).  The ref, as I said earlier, was dreadful.  Gave away two penalties - one to us for no reason whatsoever, and one to them for the slightest of pushes.  Also, the slightest of contact usually always resulted in a free-kick.

Disappointing that we gave the lead away, because in a group with the USA and Norway we need to get all the points we can early.

GOOD ON YA GIRLS!!!!!
Pretty much agree with you LG re the penalties and the long balls..
I was disappointed at the aimless hoofing up the field. It rarely found one of our players. I wondered if it was a deliberate tactic to keep the japanese back in their own half and hope they made a mistake that we could take advantage of.
I thought the Kiwis lacked a bit of confidence. They often had players in support in midfield but instead turned away and hoofed the ball up field.
Positively. There is potential there for the team to play better than that.  We scored a couple of goals. got a result and had some good touches (goalkeeping and Riley's runs in particular).
Gee it's great to see our international football sides on the world stage again.

hoofing up the field is usually when your playing catch up football, we had the lead
need to learn how to close out games when in front, maybe with the experience of this game they will be better for it

Btw, I know my previous comment sounds all criticism, but I am happy for the girls.
