FROM SCORING SEVEN TO CONCEDING SEVEN - WHAT THE?

From good performance (and first ever Futsal win) against Solomons (7-3) to abject thrashing by Malaysia!

But that young NZ player Dylan Manickum  sure can score -  five goals against the Solomons (and some quality ones too) and  another against Malaysia - wonder if he's any good at the outdoor game - in Brazil it's common for kids to migrate from being Futsal stars to proper football stars - happened to Ronaldo I believe...

AUCKLAND – The difference between AFC and OFC was last night demonstrated as the Futsal Whites were knocked for seven by Asian representative’s Malaysia in their second group game of the OFC Futsal Invitational Championship.

The 7-1 defeat means that the Futsal Whites must win their final group game on Thursday against New Caledonia to proceed to the semi finals.

“AFC is a standard above OFC and it showed tonight,” said Futsal Whites coach Scott Gilligan.

Thought the broadcast by OFC TV and commentary by Gordon Glen-Watson and his side-kick was good enough - these guys do well with limited resources.

Hope we can get some coverage on Sommet Sports of ASB Premiership in the summer.
