There has been no interplay... just hoof after hoof.

I wouldn't mind so much if we weren't continously told we are trying to play posession football.

Ashworth has balls to put his head right by the feet of a player

Ingham looks good

It's funny, we're playing the uglier football but it's the Vietnamese who are doing the bulk of the hacking and diving in.

Woud looks very promising, made some valiant efforts, please don't balls up please don't balls up please don't balls up

Ingham, Lewis and Bevan only players that look like they know how to play so far.

He has a bright future. Pretty fast for a big man

Viet GK threw more punches than a lightweight boxer - but he landed most of them well

What a sharke half of footy. The only time we looked half decent was when we attacked down the right and Ingham got involved with some one twos... otherwise lets just lump it.

Billingsley is not a target man and hes poor technically... what is the game plan there.

Bring on Rogerson, start passing the ball and lets see if we can win a game with footy. Our only saving grace is it looks like Vietnam is getting tired.

Surely Rogerson is a better option than Billingsley who looks as though he struggles to walk without falling over. And how on earth Dyer gets a game for anyone other than a pub team is beyond me.  He is just dreadful.  Hopefully we see Singh and McGarry sooner rather than later. Woud has been excellent and impressed with Ingham and Bevan

Dyer's been a lost cause for a while now, why he's consistently in any national team let alone the first team is beyond me

Sinclair wasn't a very good advertisement

Not blaming Dyer or Lewis as they have not had the ball effectively as we keep bypassing them. The both are just screening and tackling currently.

I wish we would stop taking crosses and risky passes first time. We're rushing it, come on lads take your time

Much better start to the second half.  We still look slow and uninspired through the middle.  A player with the full international experience that Dyer has should really be shining at this level.  Thought Myer Bevan has looked good so far.

Ingham has looked very good.

One thing I notice is the pressing style is noticeable. Something Hudson implemented
Permalink Permalink

You have to press when you constantly give away the ball

When you hoof it away aimlessly all the time you can't create anything

That game would have still been hard to stay up for even if kick-off was at midday...

We were lucky they didn't bury that huge chance on about '86. Hope to see some personnel changes for Honduras match. McGarry for Sinclair, Singh to start in place of Dyer.
