Trying to find a positive out of all this, at least it didn't happen after beating Iran 2-0 on aggregate in 2 years to book a place in Russia with Wynne playing LB in both games. You would hope that NZF now, if they weren't before, would be triple checking the eligibility of players to ensure that we don't see a repeat of this. Yes not making the Olympics is a massive blow to the build up to 2018, but at the end of the day making it to Russia is the goal, and Hudson will have to come up with a plan b for the build up towards achieving this.
