Match fitness-wise he’s not in my opinion. 

If he’s going on loan next season he will need to be there to fight for a spot 

There is also a reasonable chance Bayern will look to sell him on in the coming Euro summer window (finishes 31st August) to get some return on their initial investment. That's if they don't see him having a longer term future at the club.

So having him play at the Olympics, gives everyone a little marketing shop window, to see him in action.
