Don't think we'll play like this as we've never played this formation but I think this would work well with the group of players we have. Waine is not a winger and works better in a front 2. Rufer would play the anchor role and can even drop deeper into the backline so Cacace can bomb forward who is probably our most dangerous threat. Old in a free roam position behind the strikers would work well too imo.

Not much mention here of Jay Herdman. I would have though he will likely be pushing for a starting position on past performances at NZ age grade.  Particularly if there is no Singh in the squad. Classic how players not playing locally soon get forgotten.
