Interesting that Bazeley choose Garbett to play a bit deeper alongside Bell. Conchie stayed on the pine, with Bayliss starting. I suspect the thinking was Bell and Garbett would be better as an experienced combination in midfield.
I've only seen highlights, but Guinea did have all 3 of their o/a players starting in the middle of the park, including Naby Keita.
Also this would have been the first time Bell had ever played with Bayliss and Herdman. Not sure he's played much if at all with Surman, Bindon or Sutton prior either.
Furthermore Joe B came into camp very late. Just a handful of training sessions before this game. Should be better combinations for the US match hopefully.
