New Zealand U-23s - Quali Whites
I have no idea what the qualification process is for this, can anyone help me out?
Not quite sure about the qualification process but pretty sure Oceania gets 1 full spot, so you would hope we would be able to get there
Now I've just got to hope they are playing in the capital and not up north somewhere. This process really is a ridiculous lottery.

"NZF plan to hold a camp in Taupo next month when two north-south games will also be played. They will ask for regions to nominate players to ensure players they don't currently know much about aren't missed. They are also undertaking another worldwide fishing expedition to see if they can catch New Zealand-eligible players they don't presently know about."
My home, Spain, does not issue "A" team, we are not poorly dubbed 1980's show of TV with man of shaved head. T Mister I recall. I note in my travels, I see Zelanda in Adelaide on TV with Australia. I ask, will Australia want to play your country again, even with junior strength team of youth players?

Yes, i do.
agree - since when has a trial match unearthed a player at u23 leve? a series of training camps for local contenders would be more suitable

Who should be there that's missing?
Who should be there that's missing?
It wasnt so much a pop shot at the selection along the lines of players x, y and z are missing, more an observation of the clubs the players were from the north island...

fair point smithy, but...
if we count myers as an aucklander, that leaves two south islanders, both from mike mcgarry's club
just makes you wonder

Fair play, it is expected for Auckland to provide the majority of trialists, however,
I'm not going to piss around figuring out who fits the age criteria but there are bound to be a few otago & canty players from nzfc/nyl who arent there. I count 11 players who arent playing at that level in the attached list. Furthermore, we have kiwis in the aussie state leagues who must surely be closer to the u/23 squad then those listed (I wont even mention the ones playing college 'soccer' in the states on the assumption NZF will be looking at them seperately).
+1
I'd hope that anyone playing in the top leagues in Australia wouldn't be required to attend Taupo for a trial. They can be scouted individually or invited directly into a training camp.
I'd believe that, the kids listed in the college thread are the tip of the iceberg, plenty more playing at lower level colleges. Although I'd expect that 150 to include the females too
