Good things -

WaiBOP return to Cambridge's John Kerkoff Park

Central using Massey University as a home ground

Southern taking a game to Invercargill.

Not so good - 4 fixture clashes in Auckland when Northern and Auckland playing at the same time in different parts of the city

When I did my end of season review last year, the one thing that came through loud and clear from the coaches was that the double round was a bad idea, very short turnaround, travel and no time for players to recover.

Did NZF listen? It appears not because yet again the two closest teams, Auckland & Northern play each other and not technically on the weekend, they have a Thursday night game and a Tuesday night game, a nice break of 5 days for their players to recover and no travel.

Meanwhile Canterbury play Southern and Capital play WaiBOP home and away a whole 2 days apart!!!!
