A bit late to the party on this, but just interested to see who anyone thinks will be joining the National League when it expands? Not in NZ anymore so just wondered if anyone specific had been mentioned?
Lots of rumours.
Ole, AUFC (new Onehunga/Three Kings joint venture), Manukau and North Shore being some.
Then you get club teams being rumoured to replace the franchises like ChCh United for Canterbury, Napier City Rovers for Hawkes Bay and Western Springs for Waitakere (though understand Waitak is not really a franchise??).
I'm sure there are others.
Of course whether the Handy Prem should/needs to expand when it struggles badly for cash, is another whole debate.
Now that CWC is moving to a 4 year cycle, be very interesting as to how FIFA propose to split the money from that cash cow, and what slice Oceania gets. Big ramifications for the Handy Prem.
