Auckland City had a great warm-up for another crack at the J League champions by beating Yamaga 2-0. Sounds like we largely dominated the game. I gather Yagama are a J League division 2 outfit whose home stadium seats 20,000. Not a bad result. Lets hope they can repeat it against Hiroshima on Thursday in the opening game of the Club World Cup. It's a big ask against the J League champions but as has been said many times its a game of 90 minutes in which anything can happen (unless we're talking about Arsenal and then it seems to feel like a game of 190 minutes without any goals - abusive replies on a postcard to White Hart Lane please).

Gosh, if we defy the odds and ACFC wins on Thursday night it might even earn a paragraph in the NZ Herald!
