Don't Southern have five Irish imports? Its not a big deal to me if nearly half the SSports players are not eligible for the AW's. Though I do see why some people would have an issue with it. Plenty of young kiwis get a chance through the Nix B side. I guess you would hope that all the kids aspiring to get into the U20 side would be seeing regular SSports action
I saw the Nelson vs Auckland City match last weekend. Nelson's goal to draw the match in injury time was scored by an Argentinian. There were quite a few South Americans in the stand. It was like he'd scored a World cup goal....all great fun. There were a couple of Argies down from Auckland to trial with Nelson...both defenders. Nelson could do with them. Auckland citys AW Clayton ??was on the bench.....Hudson would not be amused.
The imports add to the colour of the competition...and to the quality. I would love to see Auckland citys books to see how they fund their recruiting
Thanks for posting the link.
Quite interesting to see what level of funding ACFC and Central United receive from their major sponsor for the period 1/08/2015 to 31/07/2016
Auckland City FC $607,165.00
Central United $424,205.00
What is a shame, is reading who some of the organisations are, whose funding applications were declined for the same period.
