It's certainly poor if, as Observer says, Willy hasn't watched any winter league games himself.
Otherwise he must be relying on the word of one or two locals who may be biased or have their own agendas due to club allegiances.
Time will tell whether Willy's choices have been wise ones...
He's certainly neglected to sign some of Canterbury's top players so far.
I am aware that Willy was down in Christchurch one weekend when Chatham Cup games were on, may have been down here other times as well.
