Ole is a private company. It is unrealistic to expect NZF to replicate this on nationally, given its lack of funds.

Zonknz has already addressed the first part, but do you really think NZF couldn't replicate the Ole philosophy ?

It would cost them nothing but their pride in going to Ole and asking to stay for a few weeks to see exactly how they do it.

Besides just think of the money we could save in not buying all the cones NZF expect coaches to put out on the field in the name of "constraints" with WOF.

NZF would have to have a complete culture shift from top to bottom for this to work.

Before everyone goes thinking that Ole is the only way to go - even Edge says it is their way and they may not get everything right - take the idea that their growing teenagers should be vegans. Interesting when the latest science suggests that 16:8 intermittent fasting diets are better for maintaining a healthy weight and even increasing muscle mass at the same time - and you can eat any healthy food you like while doing it.

They also tell teenage boys to specialize only in football, when the science says that being an all-rounder until you are 15/16 is better for sporting development, overuse injuries and may prevent burn out. Many young players leave Ole burnt out.

They tell their players not to play for their schools, fair enough due to injury, but also not to run cross country and not to go on field trips, even when those field trips involve physical activity like tramping and biking.

Some students, of course, are strong-minded and ignore these dictates. Now that Papa Joe Edge is in Sweden. The mice may play a bit more.

However, the philosophy of being better every day and striving to improve as a person and as a part of society is a sound Ole philosophy, it is also straight out of Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life = brilliant.
