why wouldn't the bay be able to get imray?

i assume that they have had other out of towners (as in based out of town) in the past?

Not 100% sure on this.but read on the Team welly thread, someone saying he was having a break and wasn't playing

na bro, that was last season. this season others have come in

Pre-season this week, and trialists coming in next week. Some good signings, media releases to start from next week.

I'm more worried about NCR and Grant Hastings parting way then this lot!

Hopefully they have signed a good keeper

Still havent heard anything concrete in the media yet with signings.... surely they would be close to naming a squad and getting some serious pre season training underway?

AGM this week, the 30th I think. In the past they've announced the team there. Surprised word hasn't leaked out yet. i could get off my ass and go down to training, but can't be bothered.

Yes it was so I expected something in the local rag this morning - nothing. Nothing on the website either. Maybe tomorrow's paper. Actually got of my ass and asked someone that will know but no reply yet

Understand that the bulk of the squad has been signed, just finishing off a couple of 'key signings' they plan to release the names in the squad next week.

heard matt hastings has come out of retirement to be a squad member! interested to see who the key signings are, must be new!

David Mulligan...

Let's just say.... not confirmed..... He still hasn't made a decision.

Thought Mulligan was injured with his neck? If he is going there, it really speaks volumes about Paul Temple *giggle*

they didn't want/use him last season, he was playing for the yoof team most weeks. hasn't played all winter.. i cant figure out why they would want him now?

does seem bit stupid, give his spot to a young guy that can benefit from being involved. Maybe he is a player/coach?

Player coach could be an option, but surely  Chris McIvor or Bill Robertson would be better player coaches?  Wonder if McIvor is involved this season? If they are signing  Matt Hastings then im a little worried they are struggling with recruits

To add to your worries, I know one of the guys who played for the team that got relegated in central league this year and hes been signed up by HB. Should also add that hes a striker/attacking mid who did not score a single goal all year.

Are you talking about Tai Barham orignally from Hawkes Bay? played half a season if that for Welly United due to him playing Futsal overseas?

If it is him that Poolfan is talking about then, i would only imagine he would be an academy player for the 1st team

yeah but he is not good enough to take one of them positions, guess only time will tell.

Hypothetically speaking, who else would you give those Academy spots to?

Fane Morgan and Bayley Chadderton both started regularly for NCR 1st team so should get one. Maybe BJ from Havelock seemed to score few goals at that level and had one last year. Not sure about the guy Groot is he playing but he did ok for me in youth league last year. Harry Morton must be doing alright down in wellington with ole? Reilly O'meagher playing first team glenfield in auckland all year. Matt Gould must be about as a keeper. there were few other young lads involved at rovers that got game time for first team that could benefit!

Matt Gould's in england at the moment, so not sure whether he would be back, yeah id say Fane Morgan would be in. Corey adams from Gisborne maybe? played yoof team last year?

Not sure there's even academy spots this year, I've heard they've been scrapped although two youth players need to be on the bench like last year. Sounds like there will be some youth around in HB though

Oh really what is he doing in UK? Playing? that sound better i guess gives the younger ones more of a chance to get a look in if they are not in the inital squad.

Nah wasn't Tai I was talking about but surely he is not at that level either. This guys an american lad who played for youngheart last year

Corey is a promising player but he needs some good coaching (better than Fallon). I wouldn't say he has a bad attitude but may need a bit of a kick up the arse more often to up

his work rate. He's very good on the ball but his work off it could be better. I would hope he's being looked at with intentions to bring him into the first team eventually. Not ready yet.

Edit: having formating issues or something

Fuck this stupid game
