There was an article in HB Today last Saturday [I think] but I can't find it on line. It was quoting John McGifford the HBU CEO and CEO of Central football too as it happens. The more I think of it, it might have been one of those letters that outline an opinion/clarification etc on a news story and penned by McGifford himelf. Anyway.... he basically said that Greatholder had told the board that he wouldn't be reapplying for the job as he wanted it to be full time but it appears he had a change of mind but did not advise them of this. His contract ended anyway and they employed Brett Angel as he was able to do the role part time in conjunction with his job at Central Football. Lots of comment about how great Greatholder is/was and they want to work with him etc etc. Nothing From Greatholder in the media since his initial comments when the story broke, that he found out he didn't have the job on twitter [or something to that effect]. McGifford also spoke of the situation when Angel took over the coaching of the team while Greatholder was on 'stress' leave. He said the job was offered to Perry Cotton who turned it down, Angel, apparently, then offered to undertake the role to 'help out' in the meantime Cotton changed his mind and that is why Angel never appeared on the sideline and the tream was run by Cotton.

By and large, it seems to be a break down in communication, where Central Football have taken Greatholder's 'resignation' on face value but never bothered to double check later on. Maybe because they were reasonably happy to accept it - I don't know. What I will say though, is if I was an employer and one of my staff needed to take a break from his job because it was getting on top of him -  I would probably look at replacing him with someone that wouldn't be affected in that way when his contract expired.

Edit: shocking spelling mistakes
