From my view in the grandstand Auckland City may have been lucky to have only 3 sent.

Someone manhandled Kerr after the first goal (Tade ?)

Who was the member of the ACFC coaching staff who came onto the field after the Tavano incident (Vicelich ?)

Second Waitak goal hilarious - Under 9 GK would have done better.

Right on all points chubbs and its sad to see Vicelich behaving like that he was even having a go at the Ref after the game but the club really needs do something about Tade

I went to the game and came online to catch up and see this all blow up around Rieras red. Rieras send off at the ground seemed perfectly reasonable but reading online, seems quite wrong. Live it looked good and thought 'well you just man handled a ref and got a free pass so you can just fudge off'. As much as Riera was awesome for the Phoenix, today, he sullied he reputation with his behaviour. This was all ACFC until the 30th cause Waitakere had not one single scooby about the game until the goal came. I'm not sure what happened exactly but Kerr said play, and waitakere did, and scored. Seemed fair I thought but what happened next is stuff I have not seen in NZ football ever but the man handling and jossling of the ref en masse - 5 of them and someone should have been sent off cause that's a disgrace. NZF need to review that surely and ban players after the fact. The Tavano incident, I missed this fight with the fan so that was not obvious at all to us so perhaps that needs a review too. Darren White got a red card which even the Trump administration could not fudge up. Then it became a training run with ACFC just bagging the officials. It was low key but we could hear the language from the stand. Tade and co were just 'you're fudgeing shark' to the ref and the lino in front of us in the stand. Just really childish kid shark and to be honest, I would not have minded if he got done as well. I'm not an ACFC fan but win and lose with dignity, not like a bunch of dummy spit losers. ACFC should still win the competition because 11v11, they were better but show some class about yourself. Just came away from this looking like losers.

Where are the ACFC supporters, come on its a chance to defend your team oh sorry you can't not this time. You are right with what you say Vader but this attitude towards officials has been going on for ages Tade should've been sent in the first half. Moreira kicking chairs over after coming off not a good look at all.Total lack of class and yes Vader they will win the competition and NZ Football will run for cover on this. The Family Club huh

Perhaps Auckland City should carry out a review and punish their own players who were responsible for this debacle. After all we hear what a great family club they are with good values.

Finally ACFC have been seen for what they are! A bunch of overpaid, spoilt footballers. If they sent less time whinging and moaning and more time playing they would have been fine. Tavano got knocked to the ground and instead of just getting up and playing on he decided to take matters into his own hands - should be banned for two games. Darren White just had a brain explosion cos there is no excuse or reason for that tackle. I have to admit I thought Riera was a little unlucky as replays showed he did get a touch on the ball but, as has already been pointed out, there should have been another few sendings off so it probably evened out in the end.

The sad thing is Auckland are by far the best team in the competition and really don't need to whine and moan. The main culprit is Tade - he just never stops. I remember watching Birkenhead play Central in a mid week game at the Croatian Club last year and he along with a few other players was just the same. Continually moaning at the Ref, always in their face trying to get other players in trouble.

It really is time NZ Football came down hard on them. There are sanctions available and the mass surrounding (and pushing) of a referee needs to be dealt with.

City supporter here, watching at home after we had a new arrival to the family. He slept through it. Awwww.

City, psychologically, lost the game at the Waitak goal. Even if you disagree with the ref's decision, crowding around him like that is stupid stuff - reminiscent of that Keane era Manchester United. They went to bits over it and couldn't get back together for the rest of the game, made harder by the three red cards.

Tavano shouting at the AR if he'd seen Cain give him a shove and then sticking his hand is his face was stupid - I mean, he'd got the AR looking at him. As an ex-park player, even I know you wait until nobody's looking (or save it for later!)

Felt Riera was hard done by with the second yellow, it was a quality tackle. First yellow was deserved though.

With nine men, Darren was trying to cover two positions at once - again, no defence there, it was a bad challenge and a red card. Shame, I like Darren as a player - whole hearted. Also two footed. Sorry.

Guess the pressure of playing our catch-up games has had some unexpected consequences for the team.

Still, makes it interesting for the Suburbs game next week.

Thanks for the nice reasoned response John.

I haven't seen the TV version , only live and my first response at the ground was that Reira's tackle was a second yellow. Certainly I thought it was unwise given he already had a yellow , and given the fraught nature of the game.

I think the comments re Tade are spot on - I'm surprised that he hasn't been marched this season - his constant whinging and menacing of referees has deserved stronger action  in my view. The pity is that he has been one of the best City players this season.

I'll be interested to see if any further action transpires from the incidents - I particularly think that Vicelich (if it was him ) deserves a very strong sanction for entering the field of play during the Tavano incident.

Can you see why Cain pushed him away? Should he of just let him crash into him and risk injury?

Your comments ...wait until nobody's looking (or save it for later) - pathetic ..

I will always remember Tade being incredibly sexist and condescending toward a female referee at Davey F in a game vs Team Wellington earlier this season. Terrible human (on the pitch).

We done Balbi your comments about wait till no one is looking or wait till later just about sums up ACFC if thats a city supporters view and the comment its the pressure of catch up games it started at the start of the season not just last week.Yes Vicelich did enter the field and it would be great to see the refs report on the whole matter. As i've said before Tade is a good player but so disrespectful on the pitch along with Riera Berlanga Billen

The 'wait til later or until nobody's looking' line was more representative of the level I played, and was meant as a comment on the lack of even park-football level competence demonstrated by Fab. Even Charlton had his little black book.

I'm not an ACFC fan but fudge me some of you guys need to lay off John, he basically agreed with the poor behaviour from his team and you pick on one line in his post that was a little tongue in cheek.

Just because he supports the club dosnt make him party to their "crimes".

Just play the ball and not the man!

Yeah.... like ex- Kiwi National coach Ken Dugdale, who when captaining Stop Out v Mt Wellington a few hundred years ago, headbutted the referee unconscious. Wasn't at the City-Waitak game but I doubt Ivan & co. got near doing that!

So noticed Sky doesn't have the Phoenix or the WeeNix game before hand on their TV guide (Not even the popup channels) and the game they have for the SS Prem is the Auckland City v Eastern Suburbs which actually wasn't one of the ones they had listed for TV coverage. So hoping they will have the Nix and WeeNix on Saturday as they should but also have two games this weekend and show the Auckland City v Eastern Suburbs on Sunday as well. Have asked them on twitter to confirm.

Ken Dugdale arrived in NZ in the early 1970s to play for Gisborne and he later transferred to Stop Out. The game in question was in 1979 Stop Out v Wellington Diamond United.

No idea how Rade stayed on the park. He showed no respect for the officials and hopefully he and the club are totally embarrassed by his behaviour. But no doubt some stupid NRFL club will pay him to show his "passion" in winter. Maybe ACFC should focus on the league and not some meaningless cup against some reserve teams

I don't think ACFC care how their players behave, what they care about is being the best ever club in NZ history, but at what cost to the game itself i wonder. The chairman and the board don't care they think its all unjust and that its not their players fault you only have to listen to the supporters comments to  understand that. They think everyone else is just jealous of what they done and there may be some truth in that but it does't give there players the right to act in such a disgraceful manner and i will say this its coming from the imports every time, its beginning to tarnish this clubs name and the family environment they claim

Thanks Chopah, yeah it wasn't in the guide (and still isn't) which is why I contacted Sky on twitter. At the moment they have Golf, rugby, fishing and cricket highlights on SS4 in the guide.

I worked out at the start of the season when draw was announced who had TV games, City did get the most followed by Wee Nix (due to curtain raisers for Nix games).

TV Coverage:

Auckland City - 7 games

Wee Nix - 6 games

Hamilton Wanderers - 5 games

Team Wellington - 4 games

Canterbury United - 4 games

Eastern Suburbs - 3 games

Hawkes Bay - 3 games

Waitakere United - 3 games

Tasman United - 3 games

Southern United - 2 games
