there's no question that the standard of the asb prem is poor in world terms

there's also little doubt that the a-league is of a higher standard than the asb prem

but this has not prevented the asb prem from producing watchable football in most games and frequently providing outstanding matches

when the a-league started, i quickly grew sick of teams committing a whopping 4 players to any single attack.  you'd often see 3 players go up for a corner.  the league's idea of an attacking midfielder was tim brown

we've never had this negative crap in the asb prem. 

thankfully the a-league is now very watchable compared to its early days
