1-0 to City.Good game. Rewa very good and didn't let City play .Excellent finish by De Vries the difference. Rewa probably feel a bit unlucky not to get a point at least.
I think I will hear Marshall in my sleep tonight

Alphabetical as other quotients are equal maybe?

Not that it really matters, but why do Olympic appear at the top of the league on Tribe, sofascore etc. but NZF put Rovers up top?

Feel free to add your favourite conspiracies below.

Although I’d agree in terms of logic, however I refuse to believe that anyone at NZF can read.

I haven't seen Tech's pitch this year, but it's notable (in person at least) how much better the football is on a proper pitch. Compared to Christchurch United at Eastern Suburbs for example.

Getting kids onto better pitches earlier will make our footballers better.

I was able to use that function today from Android to TV via the FIFA + app. Perhaps they've tweaked the functionality to drive people to download and use the app?

Auckland City with 3 late goals beat Cashmere Technical 3-1 at kiwitea Street. Castech would be disappointed not to get something from this game. Last 2  City goals were a penalty(I was a long way away but looked a little harsh but would be interested in what the TV showed) and a goalkeeping howler. (although Gillion did well to get his shot away) No Manickum or De Vries for auckland so a bit toothless up front. Kilkolly couldn't bully Schwartz and the other CB and Tade and Gillions introductions were a bit of a turning point.
Cashtech not a bad side.

Went to Olympic vs Easts on a crappy Wellington day with a howler wind.

Olympic for me were better first half, but Easts were better second.

Poor old Easts goalie let the second goal through his legs for Olympic to salvage the draw.

Watched City for the first time this season. My god they were boring, hundreds of passes between defenders and maybe ten between the midfield.

Cashmere played well.

They're always boring as fudge. Tactically micromanaging players to every square inch of grass they cover on the pitch.

Dylan Manickum is the only player that shows an ounce of flair in that team. Before him it was David Browne years ago.

He’s a round peg in a square hole. He fits but I’m his own terms.

Best bit of the round so far (for me)

Monty Patterson taking the ball to the corner in the 95th minute protecting a 1-0 lead. Holds off two, and then four incoming Napier players trying desperately to win the ball back - He turns and beats all four defenders simultaneously before being hacked down. Just perfect Centre Forward play.

🤌
Superb

Game was pretty dour overall, physical and devoid of a lot of quality for the most part. Rewa went down to 10 just after the hour mark, but it didnt matter as Bobadilla wins it for them with a tidy finish on the turn, but he also does his hammy in the process.

It was another gutsy effort from Rewa and Patterson once again stood out, but surely the best bit was the commentator constantly referring to JC Mack from Rovers by his formal name of "James Mack the Third"

I don't know why, but that was starting to piss me off by the end there. 🙃

Was at Eastern Suburbs vs Auckland City at Madills this afternoon and it was what has been typical of Auckland City throughout the National League so far. Slow start with Suburbs probably dominant before City ground out a 2-1 win. Regont Murati and Angus Kilkolly with the City goals and a banger of a free kick from Luis Toomey for Suburbs deep into second half stoppage time.

Interesting move from referee after the goal. Bobadilla clearly did himself a serious injury, immediately clear he was coming off. Rewa prepped a sub,  Bobadilla helped off the field at bottom end. Ball gets up to half way for kick off and Rewa wanted to bring sub on but  ref wouldn’t let them.
Made him go back off and wait until next stoppage.
Not clear why.
Theory bandied about was that because it was an injury and Physio came on to look at it, the player had to leave the field and not allowed on until next play.
But if this was the referee’s reasoning, he was inconsistent.
A Rewa player was injured in the first 10 seconds, received treatment on the field. Was carried off on a stretcher and his replacement came on before play restarted.

Auckland City (3) v Auckland United (2) at a very windy Kiwitea Street. Wasn't really as close as that.City always in control but don't really seem the dominant force as in the past. They have Olympic and Christchurch United at home in their last two games so that will be an interesting measure. They do have a reasonable depth in their squad although Colloty looked way out of his depth when he replaced Kilkolly.United first goal came from a indirect free kick for Tracey appearing to pick up a back pass. He seemed to be disputing that it came from a City player. I was a long way away so no idea.Reasonable crowd in for a derby. Nice touch by City in naming their grandstand after a past playere/administrator.

Auckland City did everything to let Auckland United back into the game by making dumb substitutions. Fair play to them though unbeaten. Auckland United poor and should've been put to bed. Some of these teams train 4 times a week you should expect more from them.

Got along to the Olympic game, to be fair Petone put up a fight. I personally thought it would be a walk in the park for the greeks. Watson red card so stupid with a big game vs Christchurch next week. What a game that will be.

This national league has been the poorest standard in a long time. Why is the quality dropping every year?
