Not sure I recall people defending their position then and saying they were being vilified based on rumour and innuendo.
Abbas and Watson does seem off topic but they left 'mutually'. The club got what they needed and the player got money and I suspect in Abbas' case a chance to find a state league gig in Aus for the winter which will let him play and get paid pretty well as an ex-A-League player at NSWPL level.
For all we know both he and Watson may have pocketed their full contract values but left with a chance to earn while still getting every cent owed to them. Yes it's unlikely but we don't know.
