Turned up for the 2nd half, 0-0 at the time...
Otago had a very small back four due to Flavely having being injured in the first half. Otago were under pressure and starting to panic on the ball, especially in Midfield. Wellington were more composed and this starting telling with the attacks. Didn't take long for the score to mount, the first two goals were within a couple of minutes at the most, Otago then started loosing the plot and threw in the towel when they lost the ball in Wellingtons half due to a disputed tackle, stood there complaining and Wellington attacked to make it 3-0.
To give Otago credit I thought they were dead and buried. Phelan made a couple of subs which settled the team down and gave them more width with Gardiner on the left. Wellington also slowed down with the heat and wind. Otago came back with two shots from outside or near the box and it was all on for the last ten..
Bugger me some lanky bugger up front for Wellington dribbles?(he could hqardly run) rounds the left back gets into the box near the goal line, two Otago players plus the Goalie to beat and the left back (already beaten) tackles him from behind. Penalty, Laim Little then saves the penalty by palming it out and no flippin Otago Players are following up, 2nd chance for WU is taken. He was totally within reason to go nuts with his team.
This summed up the lack of composure from Otago. Overall a poor performance against a mid table team.
Though we watched two different games, Agent 47 summed up Otago's play accuratley.
