I watched the game and being on the otago football scene this year i still struggled to recognise alot of the otago lads. But having said that they did try to play good football (unlike manawatu who were terrible, booting the ball forward and waiting for their islander to win them the game) so full credit to them. By the end of the second half otago were playing with them, fitness definitly showed so obviously malcy doing something right.

Small lad up front wasnt very flash tho, wasted alot and didnt do much but the bigger guy (who got dragged after the 1st goal) looked quality and held the ball up well. Would have loved to see tom connor come on up front and use his speed at the end but instead he got thrown at the back for abbo (who also suprised me by being so solid despite marking manwatus best player).

All in all, well done lads.
