varsity had players from the thirds in the team & only a few from the first line up.
for roslyn to now say they taught them a lesson< what a joke.
if roslyn had any spirit, they would have played on sunday< i hear the players wanted to play the first team but mgmt wanted the easy route.
Not a good look for southern football, the auckland football league think the SPL is soft & this just confirms their thoughts that the SPL is a level below auckland.
Why would football south not want a better competition in the SPL.
I am from auckland & follow the SPL & get sick of the Auckland league saying they are much better than the SPL. But you guys down south just make it worse by having one sided games because you disadvantage the students.
The SPL needs more competitive teams to give it some credibility.
Why can"t the SPL work with the varsity team to play outside exams & holiday time.
Are we worried some other team may challenge DT & Cavi ??
It would be the best thing for SPL to have 5/6 teams challenging for the top.
I am not a varsity player, i am based in auckland & follow the SPL but to be honest most clubs up here think the SPL is weak.
Get some competition going down there!!.
