Some horrible news filtering through Culling Lounge today, Captain Matt Joy is in talks with Mosgiel, Joy is pretty positive about agreeing terms but will wait & see if Wrighty signs, not a fan i've been told.

And pigs might fly.  And flys might pig. Why on earth would he do that, I thought he hurt his leg not his freeking brain?

Mike, it's well known down here that the Brookside is tapping up players left right & centre, he asked me the other day but i don't fancy being on the list this season thank you very much!

who is coaching University?

Canterbury vs Southern highlights are up on YouTube.

Watch AJ miss the sitter as per the report of the game in The Press and see him gift Canterbury the 2nd goal with his 'Mum' no look back pass.

Good of RB to take photos and putting one on the SU page of AJ giving away another of the many free kicks he gave up.

Not a bad return [better than 6] for the boys in blue. A gift goal plus an own goal for the Canterbury first, use your left peg and don't get caught not knowing who your marking L.W-W.

This has been A big problem with LUs coaching no idea how to coach defending or how to pick good players in that position in the first place. Matt Joy not to be incuded in that bracket.

Canterbury strolled the second half and looked like juniors [SU] playing seniors. Oh hang on that's what it was.

As a spectator stated when the SU boys warming up "the youth game has finished lads".

Embarrasing! That defending is childs play. Canterbury UTD should have put 6 or 7 past Southern. What a season this has been...

Logan Wrightwebb, Hayman, Rae and Flood would have to be the four worst players in National League history. Who would be worse?

Sorry guys just a passionate supporter who wants the best for his team

Just seen those highlights, Batty's positioning for clapham's goal pretty questionable. However, he kept the score respectable that's for sure.

Currently Five Nil down and I genuinely do not understand the team selection policy. Still Luiz is a genius apparently so what do mere mortals know. Must be part of the five year plan.

Has Big Luiz actually introduced himself to the squad yet?
What is his best X1?  Luiz has no idea of it.
Nor does he have a game plan.
Good job the players had a game plan against Waitakere cause the coach had no clue before the game what to do.
Matt Joy to coach the last two games of the season, go on Matt you won't do any worse than thus far.

WaiBop played a 4-2-4 against a 3-5-2.. Took about two minutes in the cheap seats to realize Otago were in major trouble. Was wondering where Otago's Centre Backs have gone.

Liam's little brother is massive, deceivingly quick, well worked to secure the penalty.Nick Robson (man without the shinpads) had too much movememnt..

'I should have started Logan ( Wrightwebb ). Once he came in our defence tightened up, he was solid there.'

Really?

After being in fine form during recent matches, midfielder Morgan Day was taken off by Uehara after 29 minutes, but the diminutive linkman admitted he was struggling, and actually apologised to the coach as he came off.

''Early on, we suffered so much pressure and conceded two easy goals. The strategy of having only skilful players at the back did not work out. If you have less skilful players at the back, but they can defend, then it's better.'' - L. Uehara (09/02/14)

Quote from Cavy Committee Member " They need us in the league , there is no chance of throwing us out , we have made arrangements to pay off the 15k outstanding to Football South and its been agreed to in the intial talks we have had with them "

I presume they have confidence in what has been said by FS to quote this !!

This player Patrick Ebanda (Ibanda) what has happened to him? And is he still any good ?

Surely if fit should walk into a poor Southern outfit? Actually half fit would do ...

my fav comment was this, from the waibop coach

"We were well prepared. The profit is in the detail. I got up and watched [Southern] play Auckland and then watched the video several times of your match against Canterbury. You've got to put the work in"

there;'s nothing quite like patting yourself on the back

And then rickerby got golden boot...Luiz is a complete idiot for substituting Logan wright-Webb for Morgan day when he didn't even change the formation! Should've brought Taylor on and played a 4-4-2. You would think he would put an extra man at the back after a 3-0 loss to Auckland city. Should be interesting who he puts in the starting line up this week...

Based on my chat with him tonight, it'll be more of the same. Wright-webb to likely start in a 3-5-2.

Part of the major problem on Sunday was that the wingers need to play as wingbacks. And when they beat Waitakere they did. But Hindson and Schneider were caught to far forward too often. And with the way Waikato were playing, 3 at the back without that defensive coverage out wide was always going to end in tears.
