Considering the league has no money now (cannot afford a 3rd round) and cannot afford TV coverage, who is going to pay for this TV referee stuff. There are no comms kits as far as I can see and plastic rolodex subs boards instead of electronic boards? How many teams travel on the cheap and cannot stay overnight? The league as a whole has far bigger issues than paying for TV officials. To add to that, it does not exist on any other league in the world so how the hell is it going to happen here.

As far as a young ref, I think its his 4th year?

Always intelligent from you Vader.  My response to Ali was a generic one - of course the practicalities of achieving even a modicum of 'technical review' are beyond the Premiership at the moment.  But it must happen soon at the top end of our game, surely?  Vader I would be interested in knowing how old that ref is in years.  Four years of reffing may seem a lot - but he still looks like a kid from the photo I saw, and based on what I've heard of the decision he made he showed his immaturity and lack of 'life wisdom'.  Mature refs not only know the rule book inside out, but they understand what it means to ref in the spirit of the game and see further than the letter of the law.  I bet, for instance, that when he pulled out the second yellow, he wasn't aware Colidcott was on a yellow (not that I can ever know that - it's just a gut feeling).  Mature refs keep track of that sort of stuff, and weigh it up.  How many times have you seen good refs give players on a yellow a good ticking off, when according to the rule book they would entirely justified giving them a second?

To put it in perspective, the ASBP is an 'amateur' league so we can't expect world class refs. I'm not averse to giving the refs a bit of stick during the game but to go on about it days, weeks and even years (2007 RWC) afterwards is too much.
