Still several permutations remaining for the top two heading into the final round: 1. Coastal win against UC then United will finish third no matter the result against Technical. 2. If Coastal draw and United win against Technical then United will finish 2nd on goal difference.

Wasn't intended to offend - but FC Nelson went unbeaten in the league last year then lost fairly comfortably in the end against UC in the second leg, and they have been a lot poorer in the league this year.
You mentioned Waimak losing to Cashmere reserves, but FC finished below Nelson Suburbs reserves who by my guess are probably worse than Cashmere reserves.
Anyway all power to them and I hope they pull through in the second leg as well, as there are too many Chch teams in the top league anyway.
Nelson even won the first leg against Uni before losing in the second - I read a piece from their coach before that game saying it would be the first time most of them had played on artificial turf so it might be tricky to adjust to the pace and bounce of it.
