Not necessarily Southern League, but does anyone know when the draws for the Canterbury Premiership and Championship are likely to be released? Can't be too far off.
I believe that with UC moving to Southern League that Christchurch United's U20s will replace them in CPL, and Nomads and Selwyn reserve teams have swapped between CPL and CCL too. Cash Tech have an U20 team joining CCL too.
Seems like they want 10 teams in the CPL, (and CCL, Div 1 and Div 2, with 8 team in Div 3 and below - From the end of season minutes), meaning that 3 team from CCL will get promoted: United, Selwyn and Bays' reserve teams. It still looks that Nomads will be in CPL, due to the fact that they announced the coaching staff for CPL (as Atticus Jones for Head Coach).
That leaves 7 teams in the CCL and with them looking to add another Tech team, it could be the top 3 from Div 1 which was Selwyn, Halswell, and Tech.
Nothing about the draws, but I would say that CPL stats 30th weekend with CCL starting a week later with the other leagues, since that is what they did last year, leaving 21 weeks for CPL and 20 weeks for CCL.
Gotcha. I know the Selwyn team that cleaned up Div1 last year will be in CCL and there's a Nomads U20 team listed in there too. Haven't seen a team list for CPL so assumed the Nomads team had come down from there. But makes sense.
Tech's CCL team is an U20s to go alongside their firsts in SL and reserves in CPL - assume it's the same for Nomads with firsts, res. and U20 in the top three leagues. So those new U20 teams will be jumping straight into CCL and joined by that third Selwyn team with CPL expanding to 10 teams.
Believe CPL draw is out first round of 18 in on 6 April, no news on CCL draw.SamCoughlan

Sounds like Coey is having a break from football this season, with Kyle taking over between the posts. SamCoughlan
