After watching Christchurch United for some years now and also watching them be decapitated in the first half on Saturday, here's my opinion on the game and the difference between the clubs.
- firstly cash tech will continue to remain dominant for some years. They have a consistent core of players year in year out. Also a consistent coaching staff.
- United have a great academy that hasn't been supported well by the imported coaches.
- year in and out United replace a large chunk of there squad, there is no core group of players that you build around.
-Since returning I believe the OFC players have been disappointing, they were shown the door in the first half.
-playing on turf now is no big advantage either. Teams turn up and cope without drama
-cashtech were also far more direct. Whether it was their tactics/style or uniteds poor midfield on first half I'm not sure, but when in possession they were always looking to attack quickly keeping united stretched. United maintained possession went nowhere and didn't create any overloads while cashtech regrouped their defensive shape under very little pressure.
Second half was different with a better midfield from united and more go forward.
