I'm absolutely 100% keen to go to a venue and support the Nix tonight - I drove down to Wellington for the WP v NJ match and would love to get together with some Auckland-based WP fans to watch this match.
Where is the venue and is there a contact person for this? And is it worth forming a WP Auckland fan club?
I live on the Shore and don't drink, so can pick someone up and take them over maybe...we're leaving straight after the match though...be good to know which of the two venues was the "let's sing and give it laldy" venue...
I like the idea of starting an Auckland YF wing. Might be a good way to get people to one venue for games and also to sort out vans/buses down for games in Wellington. It appears there are quite a few fans up here!
Hey guys, where are we watching the games this year. It would be cool to get a good YF community going up here once and for all. We had a promising start last year but it quickly died off. Fox's Ale House on the Viaduct seem to be making a considerable effort this time, they are advertising this Friday's game as the Weekend's main even on both their website and their Facebook page (even though they have mistakenly said 8 o'clock). I have never seen an Auckland bar actively advertise the A-League before, so we should give them a crack. Anyone else keen?
They seem to be doing a good job positioning themselves as Auckland's football pub. The only problem is, while it is great for games, there are too many "waterfront" tools around on Friday and Saturday nights. It was like watchhing the game in a club. Maybe I'm just an old man.
In saying that, It is time we got a place to go for every weeks game and not change it. See if we can work something out with the bar if they give us some good options for drinks and food and we bring them in some more people?
What you think?
Barfifa - No. Went there a few times was alright. Went there for a game at 930 and they weren't even showing it. The good thing about Foxes is that they would most definitely be showing it. Downside is there drinks are expensive.
Agreed. The last thing you'd want is to haul your arse into town to find a bunch of leagueys or rughyheads watching a game, so it would be good to get something going with the pub. But a pub would only cater for us if there was a good number coming in.
Who's going to Barfifa on Sunday?
I would be keen if there are a few others going?
To anyone who gave up on us, Four Nations at the viaduct is still go. Still 2 for 1 beers, still friendly Irish bar staff, all welcome!!!! (except for children)
I shall be in Auckland in 3 weeks, who are we playing and when?
how many end up there on gameday sneakeyrat?
We hit a peak of around 15. Don't know where they went.
Who's going where for the all whites game?
foxes ale house, dress up in white and you get $15 jug.
Will have finished my last school exams on Saturday, Will any place be showing Phoenix game on Sunday night v Roar?
Anyone going to watch the game anywhere tonight?
Na house is on so ill be switching between the two
There's at least four of us in my group going to barfifa tonight, might see some more of you there
Where is everybody going to watch the game?? I will be at barfifa if there are a few people going. Cmon Auckland supporters lets get a few people out to watch. ( Surely it cant be that hard to come out and support )
I'm heading down for it, a few lads in another thread mentioned they'd be at Barfifa
I'm heading down for it too - see you there.
I think I am the only one not going, Anybody driving down??
I made it last week so it would be a bit of a stretch to make it this week, so I'm up for going to some bar in AKL or similar.
Didn't want to start another thread so I'm digging this one up...
I went down to the ROF last weekend and had a fricken awesome time. Can't make it to Sydney so...
TRYING TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE TO COME TO FOXES ALE HOUSE DOWN AT THE VIADUCT TO WATCH THE GAME TOMORROW NIGHT VS SYDNEY.
I called them up and they will be definately be showing the game on one of their big screens with sound. Willl be there with Scooby D and others - come on Aucklanders fkn come support the NIX!!!
Hope to see you there - dont forget your retro ricky/nix/yellows!
Davy
I started a thread, but probably didn't have the correct heading.

Foxes Ale house it is then. I'll the one in a Retro Ricki shirt. No not the guy there, that one there. Yeah, with the scarf. Come on Phoenix!
I'll be at Foxes, and bring a friend, barring accidents and disasters.
Barfifa Dominion Rd - had over a hundred Phoenix fans there for the Jets game!
YF Akl could work well with a base especially with Brownie up here now who was part of the formation of YF in the first place
Barfifa or Foxes. hmmm
The problem is I live on the Shore and would have to drive there, meaning i wouldn't be able to drink.

Tried very hard to do that last season and the response was, to put it politely, an absolute disgrace, despite the bus trip being heavily subsidised by YF.
Don't let me a damper on your plans, it will be great if they work out. Me, I'll be flying down for the games or going down in my car if needs must.
I remember seeing the efforts to get people together to go down for the finals last year go up in flames.
I might be moving back to Auckland (I know, crazy). If I do, then there will definitely be some road trips down for Nix games. I think a start would be for us to watch the games at Foxes/Barfifa to get to know each other - I think that would improve the chances of getting buses/vans/car pools sorted for games. I've been driving down from Thames by myself so there's always room in my Pulsar!

Keen to get in on this. The Mrs will be watching fricking Top Model no doubt this Friday so need to get out of the house to see the Nix!
Watched 2 of our WC games at Foxs and personally I dont like it. Too crowded with non footy fans and the piss is expensive!
Never been to Barfifa so cant comment on that one.
Have had a quiet jar at Four Nations before and that seemed like a good pub, fairly low key.
Problem with anywhere in the viaduct though is that as soon as it gets to Friday or Saturday nights they all fill up with drunken clowns stumbling around spilling piss all over ya.
Paddingtons was advertising during the WC big time so maybe that would be worth a go? Think its in Parnell...
It has to be a place that will be playing the Nix on their biggest screen, regardless of what eggball is on. I don't fancy our chances!
