Sitrep time as we reach the halfway mark of the group stage. Massive for us to get a win away at Ajax, I've not had the chance to watch the game yet but from what I've read it was a mature and composed performance. Azpi apparently played really well, seems to have put his early season jips behind him. Tomori also composed at the back. Jorginho apparently continuing his reclamation project in midfield with some solid defensive work. All the more impressive that we've gone on this good run sans Rudi and mostly sans Kante. Exciting to envisage what we can do with those two back in the fold soon (touch wood). Pulisic also coming on and making an impact again. For all the hyperventilating press bullshark he seems to be finding his feet.

Also a big hat tip to Batshuayi, I didn't think he'd figure much this season but he must be doing something right in training to edge ahead of Giroud as our second option up front.

We had a bit of ground to make up given our loss at home to Valencia. But you can't ask for much more than back-to-back away wins against credible European opposition. Fingers crossed we can take care of Ajax at home so there's less pressure on the Valencia away game. Lille did us a big favor by equalising late to stop them from climbing to 6 points. Group still delicately poised but I'd have been happy with a draw in Amsterdam, so we're in bonus territory as far as I'm concerned.

6 consecutive wins in all comps. Burnley will be a tricky away next up but there's no reason we can't go up there and make it 7 on the spin. Might even see Pulisic get a start given CHO apparently looked a little rusty.
