Trevor Francis appears to be the only man in the world focusing on Kuyt to the exclusion of any other possibilities. The referee told Carragher that he ruled it out, not the linesman, but didn't give any indication for what. Because of his positioning, there is no way he should have ruled for off-side. General consensus seems to be that he was the only one at the game that thought he had given an indirect free kick
