Lampard's red card was a joke,I think at full speed though, it looks like he intends a studs up challenge and that's all the referee needs
(even though he clearly wins the ball before being hacked by Alonso)...intent. However Bosingwa should get banned for that pathetic challenge at the end of the game when he blatantly kicks out in frustration.

Intent?  He was going for and won the ball.  It wasn't a 50/50 it was always Lampard's ball to win.  Alonso knew he wasn't going to get there, bottled it and went over the top and went down clutching his leg like a baby.  Even more bizarre was Riley was only five yards away and still got it wrong.  When an official gets those sort of call wrong (McCullum's dismissal last night is a case in point) they shouldn't be there.  And then to miss Bosingwa's act of lunacy at the end was ridiculous.  What was the lino thinking?  As a fan, you just despair when what little hope you have disappears down the tunnel because someone f*cked up.

Is it me, or has the red card thing got out of hand?  Too many games are being decided by these split second decisions that five years ago wouldn't have even earned a booking.  Is the game any better for it?
