No! Its more about the connection of the club, the city and the fans. Given that I've never been to Liverpool, perhaps its stupid to put it up. But I like the idea!
As I recall the lyrics, "the Internationale unites the human race", not just people from Liverpool. It's true that there's something generally decent and humane about working together, whether it's to play football, manufacture penicillin or overhaul a locomotive - and that does constitute a connection with the people who benefit from the endeavour. You (and Torres) have just as much a right to the Reds as anyone born in Liverpool.
