I really think that Hicks and Gillet came into the business deal with no intention of helping 7th place Liverpool FC with transfers and stadium, that the only reason was that they thought they could run up a bit of debt and sell off to a rich Oil/Property... tycoon in the similar mold of the Sheik at City and Abramovich at Chelsea and run away with a large profit.
