While West Ham, it is understood, would pay him (Lescott) £90,000 a week until the close of the season, they have also offered him £70k a week if they do drop into the Championship, in what amounts to a three-and-a-half-year deal.
He is a decent centre back (better than any of our current 3) but giving him a contract until he is 34 years old paying £70k per week (if we are in the Championship) or £90k per week (if we are in the premier league) is bonkers. Like, 'sending a picture of your flacid willy to a girl' level bonkers.
