Was pretty interesting if not exactly surprising Australia crashing out of the Asian Cup. Local (Aus) media are ripping them to shreds for not having decent strikers in the squad. They already had to resort to penalties to advance against Uzbekistan, and could not score against the mighty UAE and went down to a goal due to a pisspoor backpass to the keeper being intercepted. Expected more from Arnie to be honest.

Don't think Arnie coached Degenek to make that terrible back pass.

Socceroos goal scoring problems go way back, pre Arnold.

Some stat like when Cahill & Jedinak retired, they had scored basically 50% of Australia's goals for last 10 years or something. Neither was a striker.

Robbie Kruse has 5 goals in 75 appearances. Considering he burst onto the scenes with Victory as a goal scorer, he's been disappointing, at international level.

Mat Leckie a bit better with 9 goals in 61 games.

They would love to have the Woodsman.
