Crikey when the last time an Australian football lost to an Indonesian team at any level?
Cue the outpouring on Vidmar
Cue the outpouring on Vidmar
Cue the laughter after that.
Even New Zealand would be disappointed to lose a match against Indonesia at any level. So Australia will be smarting big time after that.
Mind you, it's also good for the AFC that a few other countries are emerging from the wilderness after pouring vast resources into their footballing programmes. Australia comparatively doesn't seem to be doing the same in terms of investment - despite the abundance of setups, talent and the facilities overall. They really could find themselves in a position where they're looking over their shoulders with envy at the competition emerging out of Asia in the next 5-10 years.
