There were a heap of Olyroos players unavailable though, tourney being outside a FIFA window and Euro clubs not obligated to release players. Not a problem for many of the other AFC teams, especially Middle Eastern sides that are mostly domestic based players.

I mean if the Olywhites were at this tourney I doubt - Paulsen, Sims, Surman, LK-H, Sutton, Sheridan, OVH, Stamenic, Garbett, Herdman, Old & Waine would be released by their clubs at the moment. Not with big crucial games around relegation, promotion or (ALM) championships happening. Or players like Sims & Herdman so close to first team debuts (as happened for both on the weekend)

Bindon, Dibley-Dias & Henry Gray probably okay. But you'd end up with a very 2nd string OlyWhites like the team that won last years OFC Olympics qualifying tourney, at Mt Smart.
