I also think that France will be out in the first round. . . generally it seems to me that the South American teams have been relatively well in the friendlies and the European teams have being bombing out a bit.

I love everyones low expectations for France. Works out well in my tipping comp!

depends which France turns up really!

If France came second and had to face Argentina i'm sure they wouldn't exactly be too scared at the prospect of facing the only team in the world equally as inconsistent as they are recently and with a somehow more incompetent coach!

FIFA World Cup Preview is on France and someone else at 9pm on SS3. Is a replay though I think. Still, I shall watch to build up the excitement levels even more!

Pretty ordinary performance against Uruguay, although I thought we looked the better side (certainly towards the end of the match).

Not the worst result though, especially given the other match.

I know France are sh*t, and Domeneech rivals Pim, but seriously, how do they fail to get out of this group?

They were awful this morning. And a draw probably would have been good enough to see them progress to the next round.

Win against SA and no draw in Uruguay vs Mexico game? Might be enough.

Terrible goal difference - need a big win against South Africa, and a big loss in Urugay-Mexico game.

Extremely unlikely.

I really don't know why he was starting in the first place - bottles it in high pressure situations with his horrible attitude.

He is, but in his defence, Domenech deserved an earful too.

Anyone know what Anelka actually said to Domenech?

EDIT:  Never mind.  I found out after a quick search.

Anelka allegedly told Domenech to "go screw yourself, dirty son of a whore" in the dressing room at the Peter Mokaba Stadium after the coach criticised his first-half performance.
