greatest single performance in WC history.

Unable to think of any comparison.

This is hilarious. The Germans are playing "keep-away" like a bunch of bullies with a 6 year old's lunchbox.

Was working and had to leave at 4-0. Did Brazil score after the Germans had left the field?

"Five minutes to go and Brazil need seven to take it to extra time".

I'm not a Martin Tyler fan but that was one of the funniest things I've ever heard from a commentator.

Wow. If that doesn't make Germany favourites for the final I dont know what will.....

Dictionary: To have a Brazilian - to be stripped of everything, not just pubic hair but of pride. To be spanked by a superior force , to live in fear of retribution by locals after the fact. To concede heavily.

Yes Germany put on a great performance but that was just awful from Brazil. Not marking Muller on a corner? And some really poor defensive positioning on some of the others. They just crumbled. Absolutely no backbone or resolve, just rolling over and taking it. The main worry for the other team inthe final will be the fact that Germany get an extra rest day and were allowed to cruise so much. They will defintely be fresh and well-rested for the final.

Social media in overdrive as you'd expect.

If there's one thing we've learned it's that Germany are quite good against Portugese speaking teams. I'd hate to see how they'd go against Angola.

theere was only 2 ways brazil were going to win today based on that performance:

1 Germany defaulted

2. the german players were playing for brazil instead.

The holding up of Neymar's shirt at the start was cringeworthy. He's injured you mugs. Not dead.

Do you think they actually believed they could win without him? That kind of reverence for one player can't be good for the team.

Even with Silva and Neymar, think Brazil finally came up against a team that could take advantages of their (significant weaknesses).

Just don't get what they were trying to do. Pump themselves up?

And they didn't even have a minutes silence for Alfredo di Stefano. Disrespectful.

Agreed, but I still think if Silva was there the margin would have only been 2 or 3. Dante looked lost and David Luiz's complete inability to stay in position was finally shown up when there wasn't someone to bail him out.

... and wearing stupid #forcaNeymar caps. I don't get that one person cult. I bet they would have gone nowhere with Neymar playing. And all this crying and praying.

The real star for me was Toni Kroos, sets up two goals, makes two, and no big fuzz about him.

I agree with that. A better team would have kept the scoresheet more evenly balanced. If Germany had won 3-1 or 2-0 I would say this WC has some great games. But this kind of whitewash simply confirmed my earlier comments that Brazil were flakey and that they intimidated Chile and Colombia who I both expected to beat Brazil in their games.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Well done to the Mannschaft, (hehe),of the German team.

Don't understand all the hate directed at Brazil, you think they'd been the only cynical team/players out there the way people are going on.

Turn it off. Robben dived a few times. Thats a far stretch from what Brazil, Spain and the like get up to.

Thankfully today the ref wasn't having a bar of it which allowed football to be played, and to be played brilliantly.

The thing I don't get with the Neymar love is he isn't actually that great a player and is far from proven at any level, other than in Brazilian league where defence doesn't exist.

It was that dork John Helm wasn't it? God, I hope he doesn't commentate the final! But then again... when Argentina are down to nine players, and it's 0-0 with five to go, who knows what he'll come out with? ... "So what do they do now? Maybe they'll bring on the Belgrano against the panzers for one last do or die attempt..."

The most inept Brazilian defensive performance in WC history. Without Motta they're the emperor without clothes.

I don't think people hate Brazil, I think that people are over being fed the trot that they are a good team and its finally been shown in a rather grand manner how poor they were. From the opening game, it was very apparent that they would struggle this tournament but its like more than a few people chose to ignore that, and other performances.

I don't see all the love for Argentina cause they have not impressed me this tournament and while I admit I was like 'holy cow' after Holland dicked Spain, they have not exactly been flash either. I just don't see it nor do I see any team other than Germany winning this because the Germans have been that good.

Maybe, like England these last 4 decades, they finally believed too much in their own hype.

My money's still on the Argies. They won't crumble against anyone.

Took him several replays to realise Schurrle's first goal wasn't Mueller. He went on a big diatribe about how many goals Mueller now has and where it puts him in World Cup history etc before changing to "and Schurrle it was with the goal" with the final replay.
