OK ignore the borders thing, might have been poorly worded - should have maybe used 'imposed' rather than 'artificial'. This may or may not be relevant to that part of the world, but the fact remains is that when people who are used to self-rule suddenly lose their self-determination and are subjected to the control of others (as borders can do when shoving a lot of different backgrounds or beliefs or ethnicities together), then bad shark normally happens. Could you imagine what would happen if India and Pakistan all off a sudden became one nation as the result of a UN mandate rather than any goodwill from the countries? Or, in fact, any country that has been colonised.....

Back on to footy - so was the Yugoslav team picked sort of like every South African team now is? A quota system was in place?
