Elliot straight on the bench, but not required in a 1-1 draw. Ryan McGowan with St Johnstone's goal.

Does the Spelling Referee also do idiom corrections?

No Elliot, no McGarry in a 3-3 draw. Motherwell up 3-0 after 26 mins!

Warnock reacts by making 2 subs early at 30 mins. Off go the RWB & left winger.

One of the new guys (Duk from Cape Verde) immediately scores and goes on to get a double in the exciting comeback. It's 3-3 by 50 mins, but after that craziness the last 40 mins is scoreless.

Does the Spelling Referee also do idiom corrections?

I did look twice at 'Kiwi, ex Nix full back derby' and wonder when I tapped it out.

The Spelling Ref maybe a professor of Ingles for all I know, but football is a pretty simple game. If idiom corrections are going to be pulled up, might more need a cricket umpire or rugby ref. I've just read another Wootton variation elsewhere, so the SR is likely to remain busy. Still trying to remember Elliot and not Elliott myself.

I was talking about the misuse of "squid" instead of "squib". Might be one to send to VAR

When is he going to play?

Was unattached for a long time. Guess they are getting his fitness levels up.

Elliot makes the bench, but that's where he stays as Hearts win 2-0.

Socceroos count for Hearts.
Rowles full game, Nieuwenhof off at 77 mins, replaced by Cammy Devlin, and Atkinson on at HT.

Finishes 3-1 win Celtic. Elliot watches from the pine

Motherwell (8th) win 3-1 at Livingston (last). Still no SPL debut Elliot, who rides the pine.

Aussie Tete Yengi (ex Jets) with Livingston's goal. Yengi was playing against Logan Rogerson & Ollie Whyte in Finland last year. He has 3 SPL goals in only 7 games for Livingston who look doomed for the drop.

Motherwell with a big upset 2-1 win at Ibrox. Celtic fans will be pleased, as the gap closes to 2 points between the Old Firm rivals, and Hoops the game in hand.

Elliot watches it all from the pine. Kiwi SPL derby next.

1-1 draw. Strain started for St Mirren & Baccus off the bench.

Wonder if Elliot is still in Scotland, or headed to Albany to begin training with the Black Knights. Hasn't been in a Motherwell squad since 3rd March.

Motherwell (8th) host Hibernian (7th). Motherwell with a win could make top 6 cutoff

https://au.soccerway.com/matches/2024/04/13/scotland/premier-league/motherwell-fc/hibernian-football-club/4104921/

Wonder how many of Elliot, McGarry & Greive will still be in Scotland next season?
None of them doing much currently. All potential targets for Auckland FC?

Edit - no Elliot. Hasn't been in a matchday Motherwell squad since 3rd March. Zero mins of SPL playing time.

Martin Boyle starts for Montgomery's Hibs. 37 yr old Adam Le Fondre (5 goals in 19 SPL games) on the pine.

Same old, same old. Kiwi SPL derby, but neither Kiwi fullback makes the match day squads.

Aberdeen (8th) beat 10 man Motherwell (9th), 1-0.

Elliot seems most likely to be going to Auckland FC, with his Scottish move a complete fizzer. No SPL mins to date.

McGarry signed a three-year deal, with the Dons. Not sure what is going to happen with him. Maybe Nick Montgomery can get him on loan to Hibs. McGarry's best ever consistent pro football stint was at CCM under Montgomery.

Motherwell (9th) travel to Ross County (10th). Motherwell 9 pts clear of relegation playoff spot - St. Johnstone (11th) - with 3 games left. If Elliot is fit you'd hope he at least gets some match day squad appearances these last few SPL games. Or is he now in Auckland?

Edit - no surprises, no Elliot.
Motherwell won 5-1.

Motherwell won 5-1.

With the announcement that Johnny Koutroumbis is joining Motherwell from Perth, there's more than a few articles that have stated Elliot will not be extending his stay in Scotland.

No surprises there really.

Surprised he never got a run. I would have thought he'd be good enough to get a chance.

Did he play reserves?

Nothing I can see about playing for the reserves or development sides.

Good footballer, and if he ends up in Auckland then hopefully he goes well. He needs to be playing if he's to get back in to AW's contention.

It's a little bit disappointing that out of the past four club seasons, he's missed pretty much two full seasons of play - That fateful Xanthi move, and then being off contract for the majority of this season before signing what would pretty much amount to a training contract in Scotland.

Hopefully he hits the ground running when he gets back to NZ. He'll be 25 at the start of the next A-League season.

No surprise, no Elliot.

Hibs get the typical, 'post coach sacking' bounce, as they win 3-0.
Marin Boyle a double. Triantis a full game.

Motherwell lose 1-2, no Elliot, and so the non event of his time at Fir Park ends.

The first AFC squad naming, must be close. Maybe next week or the week after. Just some Cup finals in the UK, an ALM Grand final etc to go - before clear air for a big unveal. Overseas AWs to start arriving in NZ for pre Nations Cup camp, from next week maybe - one or two likely to have signed.
